It's been a few days.
And to be honest, I haven't been to my hidden heaven since the last blog.
Shame on me?
Nah, have been busy with the allotment, which in al honesty has been a pain in the...
Muddy, messy and impossible to do anything at.
But I had to go there and do some maintenance and I hadn't been there in almost a week.
So today I have done what I planned to do at the allotment, but didn't dare to because of how wet it is there.
This morning had been rainy and it did bring my hope down a little.
But when I got there earlier it was perfectly dry!
No mud, nothing was soggy.
Can you believe how relieved I was?
Though I have found out now that the soil will be a nasty piece of work.
Because nobody took care of it for so long, roots have taken over.
I managed to get enough space for my 15 garlic cloves fortunately.
So, hopefully next year I will have some nice bulbs of garlic.
Hope the next blog will not take as long as this one.
Take care all...

As promissed...
As promissed I would place some pictures from my hidden heaven.
Well here we go, follow me on my journey...
At first, this is where I was walking around without realising what lay beyond.
I had brought my "knife" just in case...
Did you see the pile of tiles in the back of the first picture?
Well let's get closer...
But once through I just knew I had found my second garden.
My hidden heaven.
Ah, right.
I can almost hear you all thinking now.
It will be my project untill the next season.
But can you picture waht it will look like when finished?
All the best and untill the next time!

Come through everyone, we only have to get past the trees.

Whetting my appetite...
Shortly after returning to Holland from a nearly 5 year stint abroad, I looked into getting an allotment.
Which I eventually got somewhere end of February.
During the year I have had like a ton of courgettes (lovely), loads of New Zealand Spinach, lots of beans and other lovely goodies.
Hm, you didn't have many varieties I can almost hear you think...
And you would be right.
At the beginning I made a choice I started regretting quite soon.
Beds are normally not a very big problem when you are on top of weeding.
But as I fell ill in May I have been running behind on everything!
So this year I have been weeding like there was no tomorrow, with the unfortunate result that the times for sowing had allready passed.
Did I try?
Oh yes, tried sowing beets and carrots at the end July.
Results were next to none.
How does this fit in with the blog name.
While an allotment normally lies just on the border of a village or city, my heaven is much closer to home.
Our landlord runs a company that we live above.
But at the edge of the buildings are loads of trees and this is where my heaven can be found.
When I first saw the place, I realised it will need a lot of work.
I felt like Indiana Jones when cutting my way.
Pictures will follow.
